Thank you for considering Winanga-Li as a potential sponsor for your project/event. We receive a large number of sponsorship requests each year, and it is important for us to ensure that the applications we support align with our objectives and have a significant positive impact on the community. We have a limited budget, which makes the selection process highly competitive.

Aims of our sponsorships

At Winanga-Li, our primary aim is to provide culturally safe and appropriate education, care, and support services for children and their families. We are committed to creating inclusive and empowering environments that promote the well-being and development of Aboriginal families in northwest NSW. Our sponsorship opportunities are intended to further these aims and contribute to community upliftment.

Why sponsorships are provided

We understand the importance of collaboration and community engagement in achieving our goals. By accepting sponsorship applications, we aim to forge partnerships with individuals and organisations who share our vision and have innovative projects or events that can make a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal families. Sponsorship provides an opportunity to leverage resources, expertise, and networks to amplify the positive impact of such initiatives.

Suitable applications

To ensure the alignment with our objectives, we consider the following types of applications as suitable for sponsorship:

Projects/Events Focused on Cultural Safety: Applications that prioritise creating culturally safe spaces for children and the community, promoting cultural practices, and preserving Aboriginal languages and traditions.
Programs Supporting Education and Care: Applications that aim to enhance education and care services for children, including early childhood development programs, parenting workshops, and access to quality educational resources.
Initiatives Promoting Community Empowerment: Applications that empower Aboriginal families by fostering self-determination, providing opportunities for skill development, promoting employment prospects, or supporting community-led initiatives.
Advocacy and Awareness Efforts: Applications that raise awareness about the challenges faced by Aboriginal communities, advocate for equitable rights and opportunities, and promote positive social change.

Please note that while these are general guidelines, we encourage applicants to be creative and innovative in their project/event proposals while ensuring alignment with Winanga-Li's mission and objectives.

Maximum amount considered per application

To ensure that our annual budget can benefit as many individuals and organisations as possible, we have implemented a maximum limit for each sponsorship application. The maximum amount considered per application is $5,000. We encourage applicants to carefully consider their funding needs and align them with the proposed project/event's scope and impact.

Limitation of one application per Calendar Year

To provide equal opportunities and fairness in our sponsorship process, we kindly request that each individual, group, or organisation submits only one application per calendar year. This policy allows us to support a diverse range of projects and initiatives while giving others the chance to access our sponsorship opportunities. Please ensure that you carefully select and prioritise your most significant project/event for sponsorship consideration within the given calendar year.

Sponsorship process

Application Submission: Please complete the sponsorship request form provided online. Ensure that all sections are addressed and the application is complete.
Initial Review: Once we receive your application, it will undergo an initial review to ensure that each section is addressed and the application is complete. Incomplete applications may require additional information before they can be considered.
Evaluation and Selection: Complete applications are passed on to the sponsorship committee, which is our board meeting held once per month. The committee carefully evaluates each application based on alignment with Winanga-Li's mission, community impact, previous experience, and other relevant factors.
Decision Timeline: The evaluation process may take several weeks as it aligns with our board meeting schedule. If you apply four weeks before the next board meeting, you may not hear back until after the subsequent board meeting. Please note that board meetings may require rescheduling at times, which can further delay the process.

Post-decision process

Successful Applicants: If your application is successful, we will work closely with you to finalise the sponsorship details, including any necessary agreements or additional information required.
Unsuccessful Applicants: If, unfortunately, your application is not selected for sponsorship, we encourage you to reapply in the future and explore other potential funding opportunities. While we cannot provide individual feedback on each application, we appreciate your efforts and commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
